WASHINGTON - Veteran Republican Sen. Arlen Specter announced Tuesday that he is switching parties, a move would give Democrats a filibuster-proof 60 seats if Al Franken is seated in the Minnesota race. The world is happy.Why are the Republican spitting nails over Sen Arlen Specter?
I find it sad that when a person can't vote based on their personal opinion rather than supporting a poticial party agenda. He is not a full republican and not a full democrat and he is made an outcast because of it. This is our country, not a football game. It does the country no good to choose one side and vote purely on what your party tells you to. I have twins and it would be like me having to choose which one I love more; its an unfair question to ask.Why are the Republican spitting nails over Sen Arlen Specter?
Because it is the beginning of the end for the GOP. They are no longer a viable, reliable, believable, respectable party...on and on. Eventually they may morph into a conservative group with a different label but the circumstances will be the same. They will be ignored! The world is moving ahead, becoming more progressive. Those who want to live in Laura Ingall's world are incredibly naive, they will never again emerge as a majority. The GOP has a 21 percent approval rating. It's only going to fall and Democrats will be in control for a long time! Thank God!

I have said over and over, They keep losing yet they won't retool. They use the same tactics(Name calling and character attacks) that we rejected in November and they are moving further and further to the right. I am glad they are so hard headed. specter has been a Republican longer than most of the Republicans on the Y/A have been alive. I think he may know a thing or 2 about that Party.
