Its not that hard all you have to do is paint the nail then when your done use a Q tip and put some nail polish remover on it and wipe the sides of your fingers were you went out of the line and that's it. Then it will look perfect. Then let them dry and your on your way. The only hard part is picking the color your goin to paint your nails...lol have funHow do I paint my nails properly?

Here is a real important thing to remember:

DON'T have any oils on your nails before painting. This will make the coats of polish more likely to form bubbles. So rub your hands, or only your nails with soap so that the oils will come off(This includes lotion and your own natural oils).

Start with a clear base coat so you won't stain your nails. Then paint the color. If, the color is not as intense or solid as you want, paint another coat. Finish with a clear topcoat if you only painted one coat of COLOR polish. If you painted 2 coats of COLOR(which means it does not include base coat), then you don't need a top coat.

Tips:

-dab the brush on the opening of the bottle to remove excess polish before painting

-3 strokes will make things less messy and more quicker; paint one stroke down the middle of a nail, then paint the left side of that nail, then the right side

-paint no more than 3 coats; if you paint more than 3 coats, your polish will be likely to chip easily or just slide off

-remember that nail polish takes 45 minutes to dry COMPLETELY

-Stick the bottles of nail polish in the fridge to preserve the polishs' consistencies(they won't dry out)
Always use a base coat to prevent your nails from becoming stained. After you have decided on your colour apply 2 coats of it. Start at the bottom of your nail (but do not touch the cuticle as this will caise the cuticles to 'flood' and look messy. You should also leave a small gap at the sides of your nails to, so that you avoid the nail walls. Some people say use 3 strokes but I have always used 4. the first one straight down the middle, then one either side then the final one down the middle again. finish with a clear top coat to help prevent chipping.

Also never shake your bottle of polish - as over time this creates air bubbles in the product and it will not go on smoothly.

Hope this helps
You should first file your nail to the shape and length you want. Then add some cutical remover and use a nail pushed to push and shape your skin back, giving it a nice overall shape of the nails.

Then, use a nail nipper and nip out dead pieces of little skin along your nail bed, trim and make the area neat.

Next, apply base coat, then color(2coats), and top coat.

-never shake bottles as it create air bubbles in the polish..

-when applying, dip brush into bottle before slowly speading the brush (like a fan shape) before taking it out to apply..

-wait for each layer to dry before applying another..

-estimate the correct amount to have on your brush before you apply as too much might cause bloatedness and too little would result in layering..
+File your nails

+Apply a base coat

+Start in the middle of the nail a push the brush towards the cuticle and it will fan out then pull it down

+Carefully go from there to down the sides and you should end up with perfect edges.

+Finally apply a top coat
You need to have a very steady hand to be able to paint both hands on ur own. Start from the bottom and just do one strand at a time keeping your hand as still as you can. Dont take too long between strokes though cos otherwise it dries and as you keep painting over it it will start going gluggy. And also, dont paint them in little bits (like dabbing your nails) it looks too messy. Keep it simple and smooth.

The more times you paint your nails, the steadier your hands get. About 2 months ago i started regularly painting my nails and was so unsteady it was pathetic, but the more i did it, the better i got.

If you accidentally get polish on your skin, have a cotton bud on handy and nail polish remover. Just dip the end in and wipe it away =) easy

Good luck with it. And remember even if ur pathetic and wobbly at the start, your hands will learn and u will improve! =)
mhm i have long nails too. i always use a bottom coat. like a clear color so the nail polish won't leave my nails looking yellowish. then i paint my nails from the cuticles going down. (you can paint a second base if you want). and then i apply the clear coat again (so it won't chip)!
simple knock them in so they are just below the surface of the wood. Then use some wood filler to level them off. Then when dry give them a quick sand and paint over.
Always start in the middle of the nail so if their too much on the brush you can take excess off and use cotten buds dipped in nail varnish remover to correct any mistakes.
Start in the middle, from the bottom to the top then do the sides.
Buy a seven inch roller and presto, your away!
good ideas
