I want to get my nails done professionally again but i heard they mess up your nails!! I was wondering if anyone knew if i get them removed by a professional if it will still mess them up?Will my real nails still be messed if i get my fake nails removed by a professional?
If you can find a really good licensed nail technician and are willing to pay more than our average discount nail salon, there should be no damage done to your nails. The technician knows how to buff down your nails correctly and will not put added damage on them.
Also, they NEVER should tear off your artificial nails. For acrylic nails they will soak them in acetone and warm water then wipe the gooey acrylic goop off after it melts. They can buff off the rest.. never would they ever just pry them off. That is just wrong and dangerous.
For gel nails which is what I prefer because they feel more natural and never lift, they have to file the artificial gels off. Gel nails do the least damage to your nails particularly because you don't need to come back as often for a fill.
Do some research on good nail technicians in your area.. invest some good money on a nice full set and make sure when they remove your nails that they soak them not try to pop them off. OUCH!Will my real nails still be messed if i get my fake nails removed by a professional?
By ';messed up'; I think that most people are alluding to the fact that when you get acrylic nails put on, the technician will smooth the top of the nail out, and when the acrylic is removed the nails are very thin and extremely easy to break. Having them taken off professionally will not keep them from being thin, however there are perks. If you have them removed by a professional, they will look much better than if you were to take them off yourself, and it will also be painless. I have attempted to take off acrylic nails by myself, and I ended up with chunks of acrylic left over, and very sore nails. Hope I helped. =)
Yes, I had acrylic nails. I decided I didn't want them anymore. The lady at the salon took them off and beside being very time consuming, my nails were pretty much destroyed ntil new nail grew in.
yeah i had acrylics and no matter what they ruin your nails
its because they file them down before and it makes them paper thin
yes. all they do is rip them off the same way u would
The answer is that it depends on where you go, and what type of a nail tech does the removal. Proper removal of acrylic nails requires the use of pure acetone for best results.
If you went to a very reputable salon who does nails the right way, and has skilled, experienced nail techs, they will generally soak off your nails in acetone. This is an accepted and proven method of safely removing acrylic nails.
The other type of salon that can do the removal for you is commonly referred to as an NSS (Non-Standard Salon). This is loosely defined as the kind of nail salon that charges rock bottom prices for nail services, such as like $25 or less for a full set of acrylic nails. These salons are the ones that people go to and have their nails ruined by inexperienced, and unskilled salon workers from overfiling your nails, and by ripping the acrylic nails off. Those are only two of the ways in which NSS's ruin your nails. Unfortunately, many people go to these salons because of the cheap prices, and fast service they provide. Alsoo, no appointment is needed. While this may be convenient, and cheap for the customer, the reality is that going to one of these salons is truly a bad idea overall. Is it really worth the little bit of savings you get from going to these chop shops who do not take pride in their work, and thus ruin them because they really don't know how to nails in the first place? The rate of turnover in these salons is incredibly high. That makes for a poor choice of nail salons to have your nails done at. But, people for some reason will still go to these places because they are cheap and convenient. They generally have never been to a reputable salon before, and start to believe that the way the NSS salons do nails is the ONLY way that nails are done. Hence, all the answers that you are getting that talk about how they file your natural nails down until they are paper thin, and how they rip your nails off and ruin them in that way also.
If they had only taken the time to find a highly reputable technician whom you will be able to understand when speaking with them because 99% of them speak English as their native language - unlike the typical NSS salon where there is a huge language barrier in just about every single one of them - then this whole problem would never have been a problem to begin with!!! Sure, it may cost more for a good salon with great techs, but it is soooo worth it. The difference is truly like night and day, seriously. I've been doing nails for a long time now, and I have seen countless customers who have come to me AFTER going to an NSS and having their nails ruined by them. I have spent countless hours repairing the shoddy work that their previous salon did to them. It's sad, but true. I have seen the way these people have ruined nails, and it's not really a pretty sight.
So, the answer to your question is still: It depends on where you go to have them removed. Go to an NSS, and they will almost certainly rip your nails off. BUT, make an appointment with a highly regarded nail technician, and you will be most likely rather pleased with the results you get from them. Its up to you. I gave you the cold hard facts about nail salons the truth based upon my many years of professional experience in the nail industry doing nails the 'right' way. Now, it's up to you to decide which suits your needs better.
Best wishes!
