How do you get your nails done professionally?

Since it's summer I want to get my nails done for the first time at a salon.

So some questions:

How do they put the nails on? (I'm going for acrylic ones)

How do you take them off?

Are they worth it, since taking them off, I heard will ruin your nails?

And how long do they usually last?

Thanks in advance and sorry for so many questions. I'm really curious. :)How do you get your nails done professionally?
When you get your nails done, typically they clip your real nails down and then file your whole nail. It makes your nail a rougher surface and probably helps the glue stick better. Then they fit the nail tips on, glue them, trim them, and file them to how you like them. Some people do square, some more round (which I think looks more natural). They also paint this ';stuff'; on which builds up the nail. They'll paint them for you, too. Eventually the glue wears down some and you may pop one off (which may hurt) or if you want, you can start popping them off. Your nails grow so you will either have to get a refill (where they fill in with more of that ';stuff';) or you can take them off. If you clip the tips with a fingernail clipper, they are easier to get off. You can also soak them in nail polish remover with acetone and that supposedly helps wear them down, too. They can last quite a while if you take care of them and aren't rough with them. The only maintenance for a while may be just getting the refills.

With all that said, I HATE fake nails. They are really thick so it makes it hard to scratch good - lol! And they take some getting used to when you do certain things (i.e. zipping your jeans, buckling something). When you take them off, remember your whole nail has been filed down so your nails are really rough and very thin. It takes a while for them to grow back to normal. Hope that helps! How do you get your nails done professionally?
When they put them on they put on a little plastic nail like the ones you buy at the store, and they put this acrylic stuff on there that makes it stay and look more realistic and thicker.

The best way to take them off is to use 100% acetone, it melts down the acrylic so you won't end up breaking off or damaging your real nail. Just soak them in the acetone for a while and it'll be as easy as rubbing the stuff off.

I think they're worth it and they usually last a good month, then you'll need a fill in, depends on how fast your real nails grow.
They usually put the tips (the white part) on with a really, really strong adhesive, then add the liquid acrylic on top. When it dries, its a whole nail. When your natural nail underneath grows, it pushes the acrylic nail forward and after a while they just fall off. If you REALLY want to take them off after you put them on, soak your hands in warm, soapy water, and after a while they will be soft enough to pop off...but doing this strips the top layer of your natural nail so they will be kind of ugly and sensitive...not to mention it hurts. Your natural nail does grow back though, so after a few weeks they will look normal again. To me, it's only worth getting them if you keep up with them. After putting them on, you'll probably need to go back for a ';fill'; every few weeks. This is where they add on more acrylic and trim the fake nail. Good Luck!
For Acrylic nails, You can get tips, or have Sculped. They basically rough your nail up, put nail dehydrator and primer on. If you do sculp nails, They'll put this nail form type sticker under your nail, and sculp the nail with white powder(or another color if you choose.). and monomer...Then they put clear or pink powder and mix it together on your nail. They'll spread it across you nail..File it to make it look neat and whatnot then put a top coat on. They do damage your nail...alot. They'll make it very brittle and weak. They can last for a few weeks, and longer, sometimes. You'll have to go and get fills atleast 2 weeks, depending on how fast or slow your nails grow. They soak your nails in pure actone, which will melt the nail. They take orangewood stick and push the melted bits off.
Don't do acryllics, because I hear once you get them done, you're hooked. You'll be going in every 3 weeks to get them filled, and if you take them off it will ruin your nails.

Just get your regular nails done, it's cheaper and looks better!
